The arrangement is intended for the bass register of an accordion comprising a filler plate (3) which carries reed boxes (4) with valve-operated (6,7) ports (5). It comprises an air valve (10,11) which can be operated (9) to open against a spring (13) to expel the air. The air valve is operated by a spring-loaded (13) pusher rod (9) which can be depressed by a limited amount from outside the housing (1) and extends through a guide bush (9) on the plate (3) to the inside thereof where it carries the closure member (10,11) covering the air outlet. The stroke of the rod may be limited by a cross-pin (14) through the rod engaging axial slots (15) in the bush (9).
