<p>An apparatus and a method for detecting an error of audio signals are provided to generate a CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Check) code, insert the CRC code next to a general header field, transmit the CRC code when an audio stream is transmitted in a transmitting party, extract the CRC code from the transmitted audio stream and determine whether an error occurs in the audio stream, thereby effectively detecting the error of actual audio data as well as the header of a bit stream as maintaining mutual compatibility with existing mobile broadcasting service standards in mobile receiving environment. A mobile broadcasting receiver for detecting an error of audio signals comprises the followings: the first decoder(112) which separates and outputs an audio ES(Element Stream) from an audio stream inputted after being compressed and encoded; an audio error detecting unit(113) which detects an audio error from frame header information of the audio stream and outputs the result; and the second decoder(114) which restores the audio ES outputted from the first decoder(112) according to the error existence and non- existence of the audio error detecting unit(113).</p> |
