PURPOSE:To render operation of a copying machine convenient, by suspending action of jam detection mechanism for a given time length after manual feed of a copying paper to the copying machine. CONSTITUTION:Operation of electrophotographic copying machine 1 resembles the known conventional ones whih read out originals on original imposing plates 2, from electrostatic images on transfer drum 3, transfer the origianl toner images on papers, and fix them. Jam sensor 5 for detecting the paper end carrying on operation is provided on the prescribed position of paper feed path 4 in machine 1, and this sensor 5 is provided with a discriminating circuit for judging that jam occurs when the paper does not reach sensor 5 within a given time length after pushing a print button or after operation of manual paper feed sensor 6, and a stopping device for stopping the copying action on receiving a signal from the discriminating circuit. |
