PURPOSE:To decrease the amount of monomer remaining in a resin plate and thereby to improve its heat distorsion resistance, by using a combination of specified two types of radical polymerization initiators, in the production of resin plates by copolymerizing methyl methacrylate with methacrylic acid. CONSTITUTION:The resin of the purpose is obtained by using a combination of 0.01-2pts.wt. radical polymerization initiator having a 10-hour half-period temperature of 40-80 deg.C, for example, stearyl peroxide of benzoyl peroxide, and 0.05- 0.5pt.wt. radical polymerization initiator having a 10-hour half-period temperature of 90-105 deg.C, for example, t-butyl peroxyacetate, in the production of resin plates for building materials etc., by copolymerizing, by casting, 100pts.wt. monomer composition consisting of a major amount of methyl methacrylate with a minor amount (pref. below 30wt%) of methacrylic acid. |
