Plough control appts. for tractor - uses closed loop controller to regulate load on plough

The agricultural tractor has a control system to control the position of the plough and to optimise the load condition. The system avoids engine overload and wheel slip. The motion of the plough (12) is provided by a hydraulic actuator (16) operating through a linkage (13,15). High pressure fluid is supplied from a pump (19) over a 3/3 directional valve (18). A servo controller (27) receives inputs from a reference load device (29), engine fuel injection rate (31), engine speed sensor (37), plough actuator pressure (38) and plough arm position (42). The feedback signals are coupled to multiple loop PID control units to maintain the applied load within specified limits.
