<p>The appts. compensates for wear between fixed and rotating assemblies in e.g. a machine distributing pulverised products. This is obtained from a nut exerting pressure on a flexible joint. The appts. consists of an envelope on a support divided into two compartments by a fixed disc. Below the disc, there is a rubber disc to provide sealing between itself and a turning plate. The turning plate is driven by a motor and progressively wears the sealing disc. This is compensated for by friction between the thread and a nut on a shaft and which tends to rotate to cause the nut to exert pressure on a flexible joint. This pressure is transmitted by a protrusion on the fixed disc to the sealing disc and onto the rotating plate to take up the wear.</p> |
