<p>A handover processing method using latitude and longitude of a mobile communication terminal and a system therefor are provided to instruct handover performance by determining peripheral base stations for performing handover and a time when the handover is to be executed, to the terminal, thereby preventing handover failure or handover delay. Information on latitude and longitude of a mobile communication terminal(210) is received from the terminal(S310-S330). A location of the terminal is perceived by using the information, and it is checked whether the terminal is located within a handover border area(S340,S350). If so, measurement of propagation environment is requested to the terminal(S360). Information on propagation environment measurement results is received from the terminal(S370,S380). The received information is analyzed to perceive the propagation environment, and it is checked whether the terminal is to perform handover to a particular peripheral base station(S390). If so, the terminal is instructed to conduct the handover(S392).</p> |
