<p>The hot water boiler is suitable for use with a heat pump or solar heating system and incorporates a heat exchanger enclosed by a wall (14) inside the top. Water is drawn in through a connection at the top, and discharges by a pipe incorporating a pump for return through an opening at the bottom. At the junction between the two sections of the pipe is a three way valve, so that heat can be supplied from an auxiliary source. In a second design the heat exchanger is horizontal, and below it is an immersion heater. The heat exchanger coil is of copper, and hot water is drawn in at the top, and colder water injected at the bottom. Another design has an upper heat exchanger with a tube extending from the top to bottom, with a throttling member about half way up. This design may also incorporate a second heat exchange at the bottom of the full length tube.</p> |
