The plug socket consists of an upper and lower housing (1,2), the upper housing (1) having formed recesses (3) for the plug, the lower housing (2) having the openings (4) for the plug pins, arranged in a row. The protection contact arrangement consists of two lengthwise running strips (6) connected to one another by a crosspiece (7) forming a one piece 'U' shaped frame, having edge contact tongues (8), which are rivetted to the conducting strips (6). The contact sleeves (22,23), are connected alternately to lengthwise conducting strips (24,25) and are constructed as 'U' shaped clips (22,23), standing vertically from their respective strips. The conducting strips themselves (24,25), are held between insulating bars (20) and pins (21) which project downwards from the underside of the plug recess (3), and have an eye (12) into which the connecting flex is inserted and crimped. This form of construction allows the internal lengthwise conducting strips to be simply formed, with the contact sleeves in a row, and the whole unit to be produced simply and economically.
