<p>The bench socket outlet consists of an insulated housing (2), with an upper and lower section (3,4). The upper section (3) having two plug entry openings (5), below which, are the contact sleeves. Between these, is a double strip, made up of two earthing strips (7), extending centrally beneath the plug entires (5) and formed from a crossbar, and four vertical contact blades (10). These contact blades (10) are fixed to the cross bar (8) by a 'U' shaped spring section made up of an upper and lower spring blade (11,12) and a spring bend (13), the free ends (20) protruding through openings (19) in the plug entry space (5), with a convex configuration. The 'U' shaped spring section affords a long pliant spring path and thereby, a certainty of good contact. In addition, metal fatigue is avoided by the use of the spring shape, and since the cross bar, spring section and contact blade (10) only require little space vertically to the mounting plane of the earthing strap, they are easily mounted inside the socket housing.</p> |
