<p>An ash tray comprises an ash-receiving compartment, an extraction device comprising a fan, and a smoke-purifying section between these two, the various sections being capable of being taken apart. The smoke purifying section contains a filter material consisting of a crumbling, biologically active compost containing at least the micro-organism strains: actinomyces flavus, albus and globisporus. The filter material may also contain magnesium perchlorate. The filter material may be in the form of pellets or in the form of a cartridge replaceably connected to the second compartment (extraction system) and having apertures in the end of the cartridge. Esp. for use by smokers in rooms occupied by non-smokers, to prevent "secondary smoking" by other persons. The device does not require the use of any water and operates in any position or orientation. It is easier to clean than an ashtray containing water as a filter.</p> |
