Spinning machine control - has double return action on material length measurement to prevent error and overrun

The measurement unit to determine the length of material passing through a spinning machine has a unit (5) to apply a multiple action to the return mechanism (6) to bring the step counter to the start position. The return mechanism (6) is operated twice in succession by a mechanical control (5) which doubles the return movement. An electromagnet (14) and spring-loaded cam shaft (15) has ascending and descending surfaces (16,17) to operate the return comb (7) through a slide (12) and cogs (2). Alternatively, an electronic unit multiplies the return control impulses. The impulses can be stretched to increase the impulse gap and to extend the signal, and an electronic multiplier can be combined with the timer which forms part of the blocking unit. The system prevents faults in the count mechanism so that the machine does not overrun.
