The rescue cabin, holding several people, is attached to the external cleaning lift provided for modern tall buildings, for rescuing people in the event of fire etc. In an emergency, the cleaning lift cabin is lowered on a cable by a motor into the rescue cabin which is stowed away in a pit and the collapsible cabin is coupled to the rescue cabin. Alternatively, the cable is detached from the cleaning cabin and is attached to the rescue cabin.
