<p>Adjacent to the ratchet teeth (3) is fitted a Segner's wheel-type turbine (6). The spool oval hollow (18) accommodates a transparent plastics container (20) with a flanged closure (21) on one end. The container, filled with a fluorine hydrocarbon compound, is placed into the oval hollow and closed up by a plug element (13) connected to the gas pipe (15). The other end of the gas pipe is connected to the pyrotechnic cartridge (16). When the cartridge is ignited by signals emitted by a deceleration sensor, gases act via a pipe (15) on the flanged closure (21), which acts as a plunger compresses and ruptures the plastics container. The compound produces rotation of the turbine (6), resulting in winding of the seat belt strap.</p> |
