The endoscope has image-transmitting, light-conducting fibres and fibres which serve to transmit energy and conduct laser light. The fibres of both types extend over the entire length of a flexible lead-in cable, and are fixed at the inner end of the endoscope at a given spacing from one another. In order to set to a predetermined value the spacing of the inner end of the fibres which serve to transmit energy and conduct laser light, from a part which is to be irradiated, an image, produced on the part to be irradiated, of a control light which is applied to the fibres serving to transmit energy is brought into a predetermined position relative to a marking which is visible in the field of view of the instrument. |
