The hydro-dynamic energy converter is intended for producing thermal energy, using a wind driven turbine driving a vertical shaft (2) with bladed rotor (3). The latter rotates above a bladed stator (5) inside a liquid-filled (4) tank (1). The stator blades project upwards from a stator disc, whilst the rotor blades project downwards from a rotor disc. They are pivoted to that disc about radial axes and are spring- loaded such that, at low speed, they are at an acute angle to the disc in the direction of rotation. When stationary, the rotor to stator distance is at least 30 mm, while at high speed, when the blades are at 90 deg. to the disc, this distance does not exceed 10 to 13 mm. |
