The shaped edging is assembled to form a sealing frame which can be used for holding and sealing window panes and the like, in particular in motor vehicles, and in the cross-section has a groove for receiving the window pane, sealing lips being arranged at the mouth of the groove and a spring element (3) being arranged on the groove bottom (8). This element can be designed as a compact bead. At least one cavity (4) can be situated in the shaped edging below the spring element. The cavity (4) below the spring element (3) can run along the groove bottom (8) inside the shaped edging and, if appropriate, be filled with air or with materials having different elasticity. The cavity (4) can also be filled with a polymer or an elastomer. The spring element (3) can consist of an independent polymer or elastomer of different elasticity and, if appropriate, be connected in one piece with the material for filling the cavity (4).
