The floating hydroelectric generator has a hull with a water duct through the middle and with a number of slow speed turbines with folding paddles to turn a gearing and finally a generator. The hull is moored in a river and provides a controlled amount of power. The paddles on the turbine have their angles set by control rollers so that they only hold water in one half of each rotation. The wall levels of the water duct control the flow from one turbine to the other, with control flaps at each end of the hull. The water follows a meandering path through the hull.
|
