This radiation equipment, comprising a couch and hood, may be operated manually by the patient from the couch. Manual operation is assisted by pneumatic springs which compensate for the weight of the hood. The adjustable hood is (1) is pivoted (4) in the fork (3,3') of a supporting frame, pneumatic springs (5) compensating for the weight of the hood. This eliminates the need for motorised drive or ceiling fixtrues.
