Adjustable castor for truck - has sliding mounting to adjust thrust point on cornering

An adjustable castor for a fork lift truck or similar vehicle has the castor (16) pivoted from a sliding support (21) whose position adjusts when the vehicle corners. The plate moves in the opposite direction to that of the castor and ensures that the line of action of the castor is kept constant to maintain the stability of the vehicle. The sliding support is fitted with a swivel bearing for the castor and the top of the castor axle is linked to the track control bar (31) via a short cranked lever (29). The other end of the track bar is secured to a fixed part of the chassis. The mounting provides a corrected setting for the non driven castor on the truck.
