Power station brown coal sampling unit - has baffle plate with opening diverting part-flow at transfer from one to other conveyor

The unit is intended for taking samples from a constant large flow of moving bulk material, partic. for determining the ash content of brown coal used as fuel in a power station. It is arranged at a point where the material is transferred from one conveyor to the next (3) and comprises a baffle plate (4) with an opening (15) through which part of the flow is diverted. At least one but pref. two rotating transfer and/or size reducing cylinders (16,17) may be arranged at the opening. The upper cylinder (16) may be a spiked cylinder whilst the lower cylinder (17) is smooth.
