Manual or electromechanical operating mechanism is for points used in a model railway layout. The operating slide is a bowed sprung lever relying upon location of a friction brake on the points to determine the correct location of the rails. The friction brake unit locates in wedge or cut-outs in the correct rail positions. The rail moving bar is a bow spring unit with two locate positions into which the locking dome or wedge on a friction brake above the bar drops when the bar is moved into the correct position by operating a pivoted lever. The base of the lever moves the bar by means of an end shoe.
