Long fur strip cutting method - by curved line of cut on short animal skin

Strips of fur for the assembly to a fur coat or jacket are cut from an animal skin by directing the cut from near the top edge diagonally towards the centre and then in a closed curve back to produce a lost drop-shaped piece. The skin is then opened out and stretched in a wet state to a shape of a slender truncated cone. Other shapes can be produced by different lines of cut. This produces fur strips of much greater length than the length of an animal skin.
