PURPOSE:To additionally enhance the performance of a video tape recorder by performing reproduction by using an arbitrary tape speed differing from that at the recording. CONSTITUTION:Electromechanical transducers 21, 22 that can move rotary magnetic heads 1, 2 by displacement signals with respect to the video tracks of a magnetic tape 23, a signal source 14 which generates driving signals, and an envelope detector 12 detecting the envelopes of the signals reproduced from the rotary magnetic heads are provided. Adders 17, 18 which multiply the output signals of said detector 12 and the driving signals, pass the low-band components of the output signals thereof through a low-pass filter 20, add the output signals thereof and the driving signals and apply the same as displacement signals to the transducers 21, 22 is provided. These are so arranged that the phases of the driving signals have a phase angle of about 90 deg. with respect to the envelopes at the respective points; the points where the rotary magnetic heads begin to contact the tape 23 and the points where their contact ends. |
