The arrangement produces curved wear-resistant elements (1), partic. transport chute sections. After applying the metallic wear-resistant layer in the form of parallel strips (4) on the surface of a flat base plate, this is shaped to form the desired curved section. The plate with its wear-resistant covering is heated to a temp. which leaves this covering un-affected, and it is then pressed by press-forming tools (6,7) such that the strips extend in a direction at right angles to the direction of curvature.
