<p>Filter comprises a vertical, cylindrical casing with external ribs, a bottom screw opening for an attachment, an oil outlet cylinder (II) along the vertical axis of the vessel and a filter of rolled fibrous material between the central cylinder and the inner wall of the vessel. Sieves at top and bottom contain the filter material and a central opening is surrounded by a number of inlets (I) at the top. A non-return valve is connected to (I) via a plate which prevents vortex formation. A connecting sleeve is screwed onto (II) and has, along its cylindrical wall, a number of vent apertures which can be opened and closed by moving a slide ring surrounding this sleeve in a vertical direction. A non-return valve at the bottom end of this connecting sleeve prevents flow-back of oil and serves as a pressure regulator. The non-return valves prevent very high pulsations in the oil filter caused by the motion of the engine; such pulsations can result in bypassing of the filter and thus in incomplete filtering of the oil.
