ELECTROCHEMICAL DEVICE FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF OXYGEN PRESSURES

The invention provides an electrochemical gauge for measuring oxygen pressures having an internal reference and a solid electrolyte. The internal reference is provided by a mixture of lead and lead oxide forming a redox couple. The electrochemical gauge may be used to determine the ratio of the partial pressure of CO to that of CO2 in equilibrating combustion gases.
