<p>Individual gas generator-turbine fan inflation units (33, 36) are mounted on a wall of each of the inflatable systems (18, 19) of a foldable inflatable article such as an escape slide (10). The article is foldable into a compact package for storage in a limited space. Each of the inflation units (33, 36) is mounted directly on a wall of each of the inflatable systems and may be packed with the wall. A lanyard (67, 86) for each of the inflation units extends out of the folded package to an elevated support (12) for actuation of the units by gravity trip upon opening and dropping of the article from the elevated support so as to provide substantially simultaneous inflation of all inflatable systems.</p> |
