PURPOSE:A lubricating release agent having improved film durability and coating performance in a mold for casting a glass product, prepared by adding adequate amounts of a reaction inhibitor and an air-drying accelerator to a lubricant of graphite/boron nitride at a specific mixing ratio, and specifying a binder. CONSTITUTION:A lubricating release agent for a mold used for casting a glass product containing a mixture of graphite with boron nitride at a weight ratio of 1/4-4as a solid lubricant, aluminum primary phosphate as a binder, 0.5-4.0wt% cyclic nitrogen compound, e.g. pyridine, or a chromium compound, e.g. chromic anhydride, as a reaction inhibitor and 0.05-0.4wt% alkaline earth metallic oxide, e.g. MgO, as an air-drying accelerator as essential components. The resultant composition is capable of reducing the coating operations sharply and permitting the coating treatment at ordinary temperature. Thus, a film sufficiently durable at a high temperature is formed to make the stable production of glass containers, etc. possible. |
