A plasma display panel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to suppress the cross talk between discharge cells due to shift of charges by overlapping protrusions of a dielectric layer with channels of barrier ribs. A front substrate(201) has dielectric layers(204,215), and a rear substrate(211) is disposed opposite to the front substrate. Barrier ribs(212) are formed between the front substrate and the rear substrate to define discharge cells. At least one protrusion(205) is formed on the dielectric layers, and the barrier ribs are provided with a channel corresponding to the protrusion. The barrier ribs have first barrier ribs and second barrier ribs which is wider than the first barrier ribs. The channel is formed on the second barrier ribs. |
