Curable polyester oligomer for coating compositions and films with good adhesion to plastics and glasses, and with molecular weight of 300 to 10000, which has at least one silyl radical at the side chain or at the end of the molecule; the silyl radical being represented by the following formula, .....(1) in which R, R1, and R2 represent hydrogen or any monovalent hydrocarbon radical with 1 to 10 carbon atoms, selected from alkyl, aryl, and aralkyl radicals. R3 represents divalent hydrocarbon radical with 0 to 10 carbon atoms, X represents any radical selected from halogen, alkoxy, acyloxy, aminoxy, phenoxy, tioalkoxy, and amino radicals, a is an integer of 0 to 2, and b is an integer of 0 or 1.
