PURPOSE:To detect bearing with high accuracy by the use of a simple arithmetic circuit by modulating the outputs of orthogonally intersecting magnetism detecting elements with mutually orthogonally intersecting frequency functions. CONSTITUTION:The bias current consisting of sin omegat from an oscillatin circuit 3 is supplied to one element 1 out of mutually orthogonally intersecting Hall element 1, 2, and the bias current cos omegat is supplied via a phase shifter 4 to the other element 2. Then, the outputs of the element 1, 2 are Ex sin omegat, Ey cos omegat (Ex and Ey are the advance direction component and rectangular direction component of the terrestrial magnetism, respectively). The outputs of the elements 1, 2 are added with an adder 5, whereby the equation I is obtained. Here, tan<-1>(Ey/Ex)theta=(angle from standard bearing), and therefore the angle theta is determined with a phase difference detector 6. In this way, the bearing is detected with high accuracy by the simple arithmetic circuit. |
