A simultaneously controlling method of recording and playback in a combo device is provided to check whether broadcasting programs are normally recorded in a disk in real time by buffering the programs in a buffer memory temporarily and playing the buffered broadcasting programs. Broadcasting programs are received for MPEG decoding. Contents of a buffer are deleted when a recording signal is inputted from an input unit(S209). The decoded broadcasting programs are stored in the buffer. The stored broadcasting programs are read and recorded in a storage medium. When a play signal is inputted from the input unit, the buffer is checked and the stored contents are deleted(S215). The broadcasting programs, recorded in the storing medium, are read, stored in the buffer, and played through an output unit(S219). All the broadcasting programs are recorded in the storage medium(S213).
