PURPOSE:To enable the best forecasting with small-capacity ROM, by composing a picture signal of a signal obtained by compounding and encoding a forecasting error signal and then by decoding it. CONSTITUTION:Forecasting encoding circuit 2 receives many-valued picture signal 1 obtained by photoelectrically converting many pictures and, on the basis of reference picture signal S, forecasts the current input picture signal to send its forecasting error signal 3 to compressing encoding circuit 4. Compressing encoding circuit 4 compresses and encodes forecasting error signal 3 and outputs resulting forecasting error encoded signal 5. Control circuit 6 sends a clock signal, control signal and synchronizing signal to control respective circuits. |
