PURPOSE:To exercise the reel control of a magnetic tape device, etc., effectively by detecting the pressure of a tape reel core in the reel radius direction and by detecting the wind radius or inetia moment of the tape around reel from the detected pressure. CONSTITUTION:The pressure of a tape reel core in the reel radius direction is detected and from this pressure, wind radius (r) or inetia moment I of tape 2 around reel 1 is detected to exercise reel control. For example, the radius-direction pressure of tape 2 wound around reel 1 is detected by pressure detector 3' using a pressure semiconductor and then converted into wind radius (r) by P r converter 6. On the other hand, rotational frequency (omega), detected by tachometer 5 coupled direct with reel motor 4, and wind radius (r) are converted into speed (v) by speed converter 7, whose output is compared with a reference speed by speed comparator 9. Further, wind radius (r) is converted by load converter 8 into the value which matches with inertia moment I and this value and the output of comparator 9 are both inputted to amplifier 10 to control reel motor 4. |
