摘要

PURPOSE:To improve S/N, head wear resistance and head cleaning effect by specifying the surface roughness of the magnetic layer of a coating type magnetic recording medium and the gap size in the magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic layer of <=0.021mu in the mean center-line roughness of the magnetic layer surface and >=500A in the mean gap size in the magnetic layer is provided on a nonmagnetic base to obtain a magnetic recording medium.
