1472627 Benzylamino - alkanoic acids SCIENCE UNION ET CIE SOC FRANCAISE DE RECHERCHE MEDICALE 10 Sept 1975 [10 Sept 1974] 39443/74 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of the formula wherein R 1 is a (C 3 -C 6 ) straight or branched chain alkyl radical, each of R 2 and R 4 is H or a (C 1 -C 5 ) straight or branched chain alkyl radical, R 3 is H, halogen, diethylaminoethoxy alkoxy or CF 3 , A and B are each selected from H, CH 3 or C 2 H 5 , and n is an integer from 4 to 10; including optically active isomers thereof and salts with acids or bases. They may be obtained by condensing an oxoalkanoic acid of the formula with a benzylamine of the formula reducing the product obtained, and if salts are required, adding thereto a mineral or organic base or acid. Pharmaceutical compositions having anti. aggressive activity comprise compounds of formula I above in admixture with a pharmaceutically suitable carrier. They may be applied parenterally, orally or rectally. Compounds of formula II above may be obtained by submitting a cyclic #-diketone of the formula to alkaline cleavage and recovering the corresponding oxoalkanoic acid. Cyclic #-diketones of formula IV above may be obtained by condensing a cycloalkenylamine of the formula wherein X and Y are lower alkyl or phenyl or together form an alkylene chain which may contain another hetero atom, with a functional derivative of a carboxylic acid of the formula R 1 COZ wherein Z is halogen or R 1 COO. 1 - Morpholino - cyclohex - 1 - ene is obtained by condensing cyclohexanone with morpholine with the aid of p-toluene sulphonic acid, in the presence of benzene. |
