PURPOSE:To increase durability of a distributor and prevent misalignment of discharge of a spark plug, by triggering a thyristor, connected to a plasma firing capacitor, with an ignition signal and performing plasma firing operation. CONSTITUTION:With pulse generators 22, 26, an ignition signal for every cylinder is obtained by an ignition advance angle controller 32, pulse counter 33 and decoder 34. At the time of firing in a cylinder 1 a power transistor 5a is conducted by one of the outputs of the decoder 34 to generate spark discharge in the cylinder 1 and a cylinder 4 in an exhaust stroke. An electric charge accumulated in a capacitor 11a through a delay circuit 35a and amplifier circuit 36a is fed to the cylinder 1. Voltage is not applied to the cylinder 4 by a diode 18a. In this way, the problem of durability of a distributor for damage to its electrode can be eliminated, and a misaligned discharge phenomenon of the spark plug can be prevented further spark discharge can be performed even in the exhaust stroke. |
