PURPOSE:To improve the charging performance of an alkaline storage battery under a condition of a high temperature, by making a cobalt compound to be mixed with nickel hydroxide used as the main active material of the positive plate, and by making a cadmium compound to be distributed around the surface of the plate. CONSTITUTION:An active material consisting of nickel hydroxide as a main active material, and a cobalt compound mixed with the main active material is packed into a base plate, thereby a positive plate being prepared. Following that, the positive plate is immersed in a cadmium nitrate solution to make the cadmium compound to be distributed around the surface of the plate. The ratio of the cobalt compound to the former nickel hydroxide is preferred to be 3-15wt%. The ratio of the cadmium compound to the former nickel hydroxide is preferred to be 0.1-10wt%. |
