<p>Iron(III)-containing, aqueous solutions can be treated, in order to separate iron(III) from the aqueous solution, with an extractant which comprises an organophosphoric acid, a tertiary phosphine oxide and an organic diluent which is not miscible with water. The extraction solvent laden with iron(III) can then be treated with sulphuric acid, in order to recover the iron(III) as a water-soluble salt.</p> |
