<p>PURPOSE:To exercise effective control over the run of a tape, by performing the confirmation of a tape loading state and the detection of a tape mark through a one set of optical mechanisms. CONSTITUTION:At a recording and reproducing mechanism part facing to bottom plate 21 of a tape cassette, photodetector 20 is set in the direction of tape 11 and at the counter position, light source 19 is set. Bottom plate 21 is provided with opening 22 and when tape 11 is not loaded, direct light from light source 19 is photodetected by photodetector 20. As a reflection tape (tape mark) stuck to tape 11 reaches a light irradiation part, its reflected light is received by reflex mirror 23 under bottom plate 21 and then photodetected by photodetector 20. Therefore, the loading of tape 11 is detected by utilizing the occlusion of light to photodetector 20, and consequently the state enabling to start the drive of the tape is set. The tape mark of an endless tape is detected by using reflected light, so that the displacement of the head mechanism is controlled.</p> |
