PURPOSE:To obtain a dichromatic image of high quality by interposing a middle layer between two photoconductive layers different from each other in sensitivity to chromatic light by applying and drying a resin soln. contg. a dispersed colorant in an electric field to improve the shielding property to light of a color unnecessary for the under layer as well as the electrical characteristics. CONSTITUTION:The 1st photoconductive layer 12 having sensitivity to red light is formed on electrically conductive support 11, and before forming the 2nd photoconductive layer 14 having sensitivity to light of other color and transmitting red light, middle layer 13 shielding light except red light and preventing a charge leak between layers 12, 14 is formed by applying and drying a coating fluid contg. a pigment well shielding light except red light and a binder resin in a magnetic field making the substrate side positive and the fluid holding vessel side negative so that the content of the pigment in layer 13 is made higher toward substrate 11. Layer 14 is then formed. Middle layer 13 increases the difference in surface potential between red and black parts with different polarities to obtain a clear dichromatic copied image. |
