PURPOSE:To execute an efficient read-out, by fixedly arranging one reader and price tag of commondity, moving the lens in response to one lens or each line in parallel with the optical character group of each row, and scanning the character. CONSTITUTION:The optical reader OCR device 11 is the OCR hand scanner provided fixedly with the mechanical frame 12 and price tag 13 of the commodity is described with flour lines of OCR characters consisting of 13A-13D, and the disc 14 as lens holder is provided rotatably by the motor 15 between the device 11 and the price tag 13. Further, the price tag 13 of commodity is fixed at almost the center of radii of each lens having different radius and the disc 14 is rotated with the motor 15. The OCR character 13A in the 1st line is scanned twice by the lenses 16A, 16A while one revolution of the disc 14, and similarly, the characters 13B- 13D are scanned twice with the lenses 16B-16D. Thus, the reader can be made small in size and efficient read-out can be made. |
