PURPOSE:To enable to rise a damaged computer in a short time, by transmitting the content of the main memory of the computer to the master computer, when the remote computer of the data waiting system DWS is in failure. CONSTITUTION:Data transmission is made between the master computer MS and the remote computer RSi(i=1-n) on-line via DWS3. If a failure takes place in RSi and the operation is stopped, the start request is made for the remote maintenance program 1 loaded from MS to RSi. RSi starts the program 1 off-line and transmits the content of the main memory to MS via DWS3 by making RSi on-line to MS virtually. MS starts the master maintenance program 2 and the content of the main memory fed is stored to the determined address of the auxiliary memory unit 4. When MS receives the information of end of transmission for the content of the main memory from RSi, RSi is set, the content stored in the device 4 by the operator is printed on the printer 5 and the cause for failure is checked. |
