PURPOSE:To obtain a miniaturized latent-heat type heat accumulator free from influences of volume changes attendent on melting or solidification, by a method where in an insoluble heat-transmitting medium is contacted directly to a heat- accumulating body of heat-accumulating elements impregnated with a latent-heat type heat- accumulating material. CONSTITUTION:Kerosene used as the heat-transmitting medium and heated in a solar heat collector or the like is introduced into the interior of an outer casing 3 as indicated by arrows, and flows between a plurality of heat-accumulating elements 1 while being contacted directly to the heat-accumulating body 9 of the elements 1. Consequently, the body 9 is melted from the surface and the melting is propagated gradually into the deeper part of the body 9, so that heat is transported to the interior of the body 9 and is accumulated. On the contrary, when a low-temperature kerosene is passed between the elements 1, the body 9 is solidified while releasing the heat, thereby heating the kerosene. Accordingly, a miniaturized latent-heat type heat accumulator free from influences of volume changes attendent on melting or solidification can be obtained. |
