<p>A prefabricated floor has a superficial layer of reinforced concrete supported by parallel ribs between which lie blocks of thermal insulation matl. The surface of the concrete slab features dovetail slots along the major borders, to accept lifting aids. Lighter than a solid concrete floor, does not require insulation to be fitted on site. Pref. the insulation blocks serve also as cladding between which the concrete ribs are cast. Pref. the upper slab weighs 180-350 kg/m2 is 240 cm wide and 5-8 cm thick. The reinforcement is of welded steel mesh. The blocks of expanded polystyrene are pref. about 60 cm wide. Opt. the underside of the floor is covered with a relatively thin layer of expanded polystyrene and/or concrete.</p> |
