The electromechanical lock can be actuated by means of an electrical knob and key. It consists of two parts which are arranged respectively on one side and on the other side of a door, especially a glass door, and which are held by means of strips, and has a member for electrical unlocking, such as, for example, an electromagnet, as well as a member for manual unlocking by means of a key in the event of a power failure, the last-mentioned member being assigned two permanent magnets which are provided opposite one another on both sides of the door with a mutually opposed pole arrangement. The lock is particularly suitable for automatically closing glass doors without recesses.
