PURPOSE:To prolong the life of a rotary brush and make the estimation of the worn state accurate by abutting a freely retractable flicker member on the rotary brush only in the required period. CONSTITUTION:A flicker blade 4 which scrapes the excess developer removed from a photosensitive drum 1 by a rotary brush 2 for cleaning via a solenoid 7 off from the brush 2 is controlled freely retractably from the brush 2 and abuts on the brush 2 only in the required period at the image making. With this constitution, the life of the rotary brush is prolonged, and the degree of abrasion of the rotary brush per sheet of copies is invariable irrespective of copying modes, so that the worn state is accurately estimated and the rotary brush is exchanged in a proper time. |
