PURPOSE:To make possible to observe the upper face of a core over a wide range in a short time by scanning plural ultrasonic transmit-receive units in a comblike manner and visualizing the received signals of the detected states. CONSTITUTION:An arm 7 on which plural ultrasonic transmit-receive units 10 are arranged in parallel opposing a fuel position checking objective surface at the top of a core is turned back and forth by a specified angle by a driving mechanism 12, while the arm 7 is moved in the direction of columns at a specified pitch so that each transmit-receive unit 10 may scan in a plane comblike shape locus. By visualizing the received signals of detected states, the state of the upper surface of the core is observed. To move the arm, an operating shaft 13 and a wire 22 are used. By so doing, the upper surface of the core can be observed over a wide range in a short time. |
