A description is given of an automatically controlled flow rate device and metering device intended in particular for the cheese industry, in particular with use of vats, in which the milk required for the cheese production is processed. To achieve uniform cheese production at the end of the production cycle, the flow rate device and metering device is designed in such a way that means and devices are provided which automatically allocate predetermined amounts of primary liquid on the one hand and secondary liquid on the other hand to the vats (2). Furthermore, drive means (A) are provided, which comprise a pick-up (4), which detects the entry of an empty vat (2) on the right of the feed station (3) and as a reaction thereto actuates the means which allocate on the one hand the primary liquid, and on the other hand the secondary liquid to the vats. <IMAGE>
